The first step to any great relationship is getting to know each other, and choosing an invitation designer is no different. We have a design studio in Plymouth, Michigan where we meet with local brides to discuss ideas and needs, as well as view samples of our work Don’t live in the area? Don’t worry! We have brides all over the country. Between e-mail, phone and fax we’re able to consult with brides no matter where they are.We even work with brides outside of the U.S. Our consultation will start with a few questions:What’s your style?
Traditional, modern, whimsical, couture? Do you have a theme? Where is your reception? Is there a certain graphic or motif you’d like to incorporate into your invitation? A monogram? Have a sample of what you’d like? Show it to us! Not sure what you want? Let us know what you don’t like — that helps, too! What’s your ideal invitation? We’re talking shapes, colors and textures. Looking for a pocket-fold? Prefer a square? Then of course there’s the nitty-gritty: What is your budget for invitations? How many invitations do you need? Are you planning on incorporating information that will require additional inserts? The more we know, the better we can tailor your package and pricing.
Though our wedding invitation packages vary, we’ve got this down to a science! Once we know your style and invitation needs, we can provide you with a quote on the spot. You can certainly think it over, but given that all our invitations are custom-designed and handmade, we limit the number of brides we work with in any given month. We do this to ensure that the brides that book us get the highest level of attention and service. Translation: we book up fast - sometimes up to eight months in advance. We offer different pricing options and our quote will reflect this. Want us to mail your invitations? No problem. Prefer to assemble them yourself? We’ll rent you the tools! Whatever your needs, we’ve got you covered. We recommend starting your wedding invitation design no later than 4 months before your wedding date.
Ready to book? Wonderful! We require a non-refundable deposit which begins the design process. After receiving your deposit you’ll receive our Invitation Checklist which walks you through the basics like wording and etiquette and helps us gather the information we need to begin your design. We’ll also provide you with a Font File which shows you our unique selection of designer fonts. Once we receive your completed Invitation Checklist, we’re ready to roll!
No matter how many pieces we may be designing, we always start with the invitation first. We’ll design the invitation and send a proof to you via e-mail for approval. Once you’ve approved the design, we’ll then apply the design to the inserts (maps, reception cards, etc). This way everything coordinates and we save on revisions (and cost). Once you approve the complete electronic version of your invitation we build a print sample. This is your actual invitation; the real deal! Touch it feel it,show it off! This is what your final invitation will look like. Remember, your print sample is part of your final invitation count, so treat it nicely! Once your print sample is approved we’re ready to get started (or finished)! At this time the final balance is due. Your invitations will be done in 1-2 weeks.
A beautifully designed invitation is just the beginning of a perfectly coordinated event. Once your invitations are done and in the mail we’re happy to help you complete your entire wedding ensemble including programs, placecards, table numbers, menus, seating charts, favor boxes and tags… You get the idea! We’ll take your design as far as you need it to go. We recommend starting ceremony and reception elements no later than four weeks prior to your event date.
That’s it! If you have questions about Our Process, or you’re ready to get started, please contact us.
